Respons for the two articles

These two articles have different types of readers. The second one, titled "The expanding world of engineers" aim to tell people who are not familiar with engineering what exactly engineering is nowadays. The writer, Prof. Seeram Tamakishma focuses on the development of engineering from taditional design and manufacturing to recent broadened sevice-oriented economy. The professor wants to convince people the important role engineering plays in industry. The first article, however, is more professional. From its title"Introduction to the Grand Challenges for Engineering" it's bovious to see the main topic------what is the direction engineering will go. The author specifies the future aspects of engineering research, including the new energy usage, environmental problem improvement, medical and construction, countreing to the violence of terrorists, effective communication and so on. Besides, the author also tells us the possible difficulties or barriers engineers may meet. In my opinion, the second article is more importatnt to the professions for it shows the research area engineering can go and the hidden barriers of engineering. Therefore, professions can not only choose their proper topic of research but also think more about it to make their fruitful result come into life.

DO THANH MAI 说...

I can not read Chinese, so sorry if I reply in wrong place.
I just have some small I idea. First, I think, we should not comment that what is more professional between the 2 articles because they are all from our professors.
Second,it will be better if you have some more direct quotation or your own idea is more developed. Maybe we should also directly choose the most important idea in the topic sentence to make sure our teacher know what we are talking about. I think you do summarize the 2 articles, and you can do even better than that. There are some small spelling mistakes and grammatical mistakes in sentences 1,2,3,4. I kindly suggest you try to write your essay in form of several paragraphs so that we can practice what we have learnt. It will help me understand more deeply your idea.
Thank you for your email, if I misunderstood something, please let me know so that I will try my best to make better comments.
I am really happy to be your groupmate.
See you tomorrow.
